Community

There are a number of multi-family buildings in Grosse Pointe City. These include terraces, apartments, and duplexes. When the Grosse Pointe municipalities were being planned in the 1890s, the City was specifically designated with the highest density and largest number of rental properties.

The “downtown” shopping and services area for the City is “The Village.” The resident-only parks for the City are Neff Park and Elsworthy Field. More information here.

Rivard Park today is an open and welcoming community of homeowners. Residents span generations, household configurations, and ages. Some people have lived in Rivard Park for more than 20 years.

The general style is congenial, cooperative, and supportive. The community values independence and privacy, while gathering and functioning as the Homeowners Association around issues of common interest and need.
